Insurance Operations
Global Indemnity's insurance operations are composed of seven U.S. insurance companies: Diamond State Insurance Company®, Penn-America Insurance Company®, Penn-Patriot Insurance Company®, Penn-Star Insurance Company®, United National Casualty Insurance Company®, United National Insurance Company®, and United National Specialty Insurance Company®. Together, these companies hold admitted licenses and surplus lines qualifications in all 50 states and D.C. and maintain "A" (Excellent) XI A.M. Best ratings.
Our U.S. insurance products are currently distributed through four distinct divisions. Each division targets a specific market and distribution channel, giving both the company and its producers uncommon flexibility in conducting business.
CompGlobal
In 2010, CompGlobal was formed as the Workers' Compensation provider of Global Indemnity. CompGlobal is building a broad state and industry product with an extensive service platform to work with a select number of key partners who bring complementary expertise and business volume in select state/industry segments. CompGlobal is headquartered in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
Diamond State Group (Brokerage)
Diamond State was formed in 2007 to serve the wholesale brokerage market. It distributes property, general liability, commercial automobile, and professional lines products underwritten by its own specialty underwriting staff. Diamond State currently has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, the Philadelphia area, San Francisco, and Scottsdale.
Penn-America Group (Binding Authority)
Penn-America offers property and casualty products designed for small commercial businesses through a select network of wholesale general agents empowered with specific binding authority. Penn-America was founded in 1975 and recently regionalized its operations to be closer to its agent partners by having offices in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and the Philadelphia area.
United National Group (Programs)
United National focuses exclusively on the program market. Targeting specific classes, United National distributes property, general liability, marine, and professional lines products through program administrators with specific binding authority. United National was founded in 1960 and is headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
Emerging Products
In 2009, we entered the Commercial Automobile arena with a highly automated product available through our state of the art policy administration system. In 2010, CompGlobal was formed as the Workers' Compensation providor of Global Indemnity. Through system modernizations, new product development, and product management initiatives, Global Indemnity continues to meaningfully expand its insurance offerings.
Reinsurance Operations
Wind River Reinsurance Company, Ltd., locatd in Bermuda, is an A.M. Best "A" XI rated company that provides reinsurance nationally and internationally. Founded in 2003 and historically a specialist of limited risk and structured reinsurance, Wind River is repositioning itself to the underwriting of conventional treaty reinsurance. Its portfolio includes such lines as worldwide catastrophe and global marine business, as well as casualty-oriented business ranging from professional liability to workers' compensation.
